Friends International welcomes non-UK students, researchers and university workers from any background or belief across the UK.
We realise that life away from home in a foreign land and strange culture can be extremely hard, unsettling and emotionally challenging. In these situations developing friendships is key and we are here to help you.
We offer our international friends the opportunity to meet local people and other students (both international and British) through various activities. These can include visiting nearby attractions, experiencing British traditions and pastimes, enjoying a free home-cooked meal and hospitality with local host families and travelling around the UK. Our aim is to help students enjoy their time in the UK to the full.
Friends International Guildford is run and supported by local Christians and churches across Surrey.
Friends International Guildford is a local branch of Friends International, a UK based charity. We are a group of people who love meeting people from other cultures and enjoy helping them experience more than just their studies and work while in the UK. Whilst many of our events are simply social or an opportunity to meet new people, some of our events offer the opportunity to hear more about the Christian faith. We regularly have a Meal & Talk event where you can hear about what Christians think about certain topics and ask any questions you like! We also provide opportunities for those interested to join a small group to explore the bible and ask questions about Christianity called iExplore. This is open to those of any faith or no faith.
If you'd like to visit a church we can arrange for someone to meet you and welcome you.
