The Christmas season has officially begun!
Last Thursday (15th) we joined in with a large portion of the population of Guildford to watch the Christmas lights being switched on along the High Street. Once the fireworks had finished we headed back to the Millmead Centre for Frankfurters (aka Hot Dogs in England or sausages in other areas of the world!) and Christmas food like mince pies (a traditional Christmas sweet food – it doesn’t have meat in it) and cakes. We then had a short presentation about Christmas traditions, the story behind the nativity and we ended with singing two carols. It was great fun discussing traditions in other cultures and we’re looking forward to our next event – our Advent Party!
Enjoy an evening of celebration and tradition in the amazing setting of a renovated 500 year old farmhouse. Traditional Christmas food, carols and activities all designed to build friendship and help international students understand British cultural activities around Christmas.
We’ll be meeting at GSA on campus at 6.45pm and give you a lift to the beautiful home of the Brittons, just outside of Guildford.
Tickets are £6 to cover the material for the craft as well as the snacks and drinks.
